disabled primary school student who had her left leg amputated after a serious traffic accident, recently completed her debut dance performance in a large-scale charity show, alongside hundreds of volunteers, in east China's Zhejiang Province.

Shen Jiahui's participation was made possible because a great number of charity-minded people from all segments of society came together to raise donations and funds to help her and her family pull through difficulties, after hearing her story.

Shen told reporters how she had been riding a bike to her local swimming pool with her sister last year when she suffered a collision. She said her family's financial condition was not good, and it was very difficult to cover the expensive costs of her treatment.

Now, Shen has been equipped with an artificial limb and can walk normally.

Her teacher said Shen was a versatile girl and she was good at painting and singing. She is popular with teachers and students alike and can sing every song by her favorite Chinese pop group, TFBOYS.

Before the injury, Shen often took dance class and she had a dream of dancing on the big stage one day.

She told her mother she wanted to dance again, but her mother did not agree at first for fear that her health condition could not bear it. Shen said she would conquer any challenge in the dance practice and could not give up. Finally, her mother agreed and was deeply moved by her unyielding spirit.

Several days earlier, Shen was excited and happy to be invited to dance in a charity show. Therefore, she pushed more efforts to practice each detail to guarantee a high-quality performance.

Before the end of the show that day, Shen's mother had tears in her eyes. Shen noticed her mother's emotions on the stage, waved her hands and said in a low tone "Don't cry, mommy, don't cry."
