Reporters attending a news conference to be given by Premier Li Keqiang on Wednesday morning are not allowed to use selfie sticks, it was announced at 10:00 am, about half an hour before the start of the event.

"Otherwise, both the selfie sticks and their owners will be asked to leave the hall," said a staffer at the Central Hall, on the third floor of the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

The press conference is a regular arrangement. The premier of the State Council, or Chinese Cabinet, usually meets the media at the end of the annual national legislative session.
