Kelly Yu Wenwen, a youthful, rising-star Chinese singer-songwriter, has uniquely become the first woman to gain a contract as a spokesperson for famous Japanese guitar brand Ibanez.

The instrument makers recently presented Yu Wenwen with a customized top-of-the-line electric model engraved with her own signature, much to the recording artist's giddy excitement.

"Girls usually go out with cosmetics, but I take my guitar. I liked Ibanez since my childhood. It's terrific to have an exclusive one. A big surprise!"

Kelly has her own collection of some dozen guitars. They have long been an important way to help her to express her feelings.

Her considerable playing ability, coupled with her talent in singing and composing, has greatly contributed to the youngster's stellar success, say her fans.

After her live debut in 2014, Kelly released her first album the same year, winning widespread critical admiration.

Later, she took part in the TV singing competition "Song of China," wowing all of the four judges with her creation "Heartbeat" and getting direct access to the final stage from two, including China's King of Pop Liu Huan.

Her remarkable on-screen performance drew much attention from the Japanese musical instrument producer. Ibanez's managers hope that the latest endorsement will help her win greater fame in China and abroad.
