Rescuers and residents who have joined the relief and reconstruction efforts to help those in China's flood-stricken regions, frequently share their personal moments captured on camera, offering a unique viewpoint during difficult times.
The rescuers mainly consist of troops from the People's Liberation Army (PLA). During the relief work, they put on orange life-jackets and submerge themselves in deep water, often carrying out strenuous manual labor for long periods.
The moment they receive a new order or assignment, these soldiers rush from place to place to undertake further grueling work. Breaks in the busy schedule come few and far between.
Many people spontaneously supported the reconstruction and expressed their gratitude to the army officers. Local residents offered food supplies and provided daily care whilst doctors offered medical support.
