After resigning, a newly-married young couple recently decided to take a one-year honeymoonhitchhiking around China, and shooting wedding photos wearing costumes from each of China's 56 ethnic minorities.
Before this memorable journey began, the bride, Ji Yuting, and bridegroom, He Tao, both worked in Chongqing, southwest China, for three years. They started dating during college.
After they tied the knot in August last year, they set off the next month.
The 20-something couple have had wedding tattoos made around their fingers. The bridegroom’s tattoo is an umbrella, symbolizing that he will protect the bride from the wind and the rain. The bride’s tattoo is a smiling face, meaning that she will always be happy in their marriage.
Furthermore, along the road, the young couple are shooting wedding photos by dressing in local ethnic costumes.
They are relying on help from amiable drivers for success traveling from place to place. On the road from Gansu Province to Ningxia Province, northwest China, the bride and groom were picked up by an elderly man. Through talks, the couple acknowledged that this man was heading to the hospital to visit his son.
Unfortunately, however, the car was blocked from expressway due to bad weather conditions. With the aid of GPS on the bride’s phone, the driver eventually made his way toward the hospital and the couple found their destination.
Interesting stories can be revealed from each wedding photo. The young couple has dedicated themselves to recording the tales via a public social media account.
As for future plans, they could either go back to their previous jobs or continue their free-living lifestyle for the moment. There should be no regrets in life, said the bride because it is believed that life is worth living in a meaningful way.
