Police from Yibin, southwest China's Sichuan Province, have joined in the latest social media craze, dubbed the "A4 Waist Challenge", to raise safety awareness among members of the public.
In the popular trend, young women posted photos of themselves holding a sheet of paper to cover their waists, which have spread across Chinese social media outlets such as Weibo and WeChat in their thousands.
Unlike the blank, white piece of paper normally used, police officers covered theirs with safety tips.
According the police, the aim is to demonstrate the spirit of the police force, and make use of the trend to convey the messages.
One of the tips reads, "When driving, check if your windows and doors are locked, and don't keep valuables in your cars."
The police officers took the photos in-between their work or training. Since the images were uploaded on the official account of Yibin Police on Sina Weibo, they garnered a number of "likes" and comments, with many praising them for their creative way of reaching out to the public.
