During China tours, sometimes tourists may travel in China by train. In this page, We will introduce you the ticket refund policies in China for your reference, to help you enjoy a more convince tour in China.
2012 new refund policies
1. Refund fees:
Since Sep.25, 2012, Ticket refund fee standard of the National Railway Sector was cut down. The refund fee which used to be 20% of the price of each ticket was cut down to 5%. The minimum refund fee is 2 CNY for each ticket.
2. Refund time:
For individual, before the scheduled departure of the train, or in the 2 hours after departure in special circumstances(环境), the ticket could be refunded.
For group passengers, the refund should be deal 48 hours before the scheduled departure of the train.
If you order a ticket online and have not get the paper ticket, you can refund 2 hours before the scheduled departure of the train.
3. Refund location
You need to refund the ticket at the starting station on your ticket, or you can refund it at the railway station in the city where you buy the ticket.
You can not refund tickets at train ticket agencies.
4. Could changed ticket be refunded?
A ticket can only changed for once. After changing the ticket, if the passenger do not want to travel, he/she could refund the ticket according to regulations. It the ticket is changed after departure of the train, it will not allow to be refunded.
5. How to refund ticket, if you consign a luggage?
Refund the ticket with “Xing”(meanings luggage) on it, you should firstly go through the luggage transportation change procedures.
6. Could Platform ticket be refund?
No.
7. How to refund the ticket, if injured or sick half way on the train?
If a passenger could not continue to travel on the train because of injury or disease, he/she could refund the ticket or the fare difference after the confirmation of the station and the train.
