Kipp's Picks: Swimful Record Release, Dim Sum Disco, Neon Zoo, and Natural Flavor




This is the time of year when things slow down a bit to make way for the madness that is Chinese New Year, the biggest migration of human beings on the face of the planet. But the funny thing is, the party circuit in Beijing never actually comes to a complete standstill. There is still plenty to choose from this weekend with dance parties up the wazoo to unleash your freak on the unsuspecting public.
 

Jan 29: SVBKVLT Presents: Swimful Record Release
Join SVBKVLT this weekend as they present a new release from Shanghai-based producer Swimful. These grimy, bit-crushed sounds are equally in the clouds, and in the gutter with ruff bass and echo-tinged arpeggios. He has collaborated with the likes of Main Attraktionz and Lil’B, and will be supported by the likes of SVBKVLT head honcho Howell, Push & Pull’s Alta, and Bloodzboi. Jan 29: Dim Sum Disco 
Beijing’s sweet boys of disco will be burning up the Migas dance floor until the wee hours this Friday with a packed “hongbao” of tasty grooves from the past and present. Jan 30: Party Animals in the Neon Zoo 
Beijing's wildest party series, Neon Zoo, is back again. NB Noise, Peng, and Inner all team up to light up Beijing’s primate community with some banging EDM. Jan 30: Natural Flavor - Old School 2 New School Hip-Hop Party 
Every month Natural Flavor represents Beijing's street culture live on stage for all lovers of dope beats and rhymes. Its not a battle or a verbal ego-trip but a party to educate and share real underground hip-hop.
