An interactive experience zone for children designed to simulate a visit to the hospital will be built in a Shanghai metro station this year.
Spearheaded by the Children's Hospital of Fudan University, the project is aimed at dispelling children's fears of going to the doctor by recreating the experience and making it fun.
The 50-square meter zone will be built inside a metro station adjacent to the hospital and feature different types of medical equipment, such as CT scanners and X-ray machines.

In addition to giving children a new perspective on hospitals, the zone is also aimed at raising their interest in medical science.
It is one of 10 key projects aimed at improving children's medical experiences, identified in the hospital's three-year plan.
The other projects include inviting children to visit different hospital departments, labs and pharmacies and building a reading room and a movie projection room inside the hospital.
